DRY LAND DIVE PRACTICE
1750 Vernon St. # 3, Roseville, CA 95678
Dry land practice includes conditioning, trampoline and overhead spotting on the dry diving board. Typically, Dos Rios Divers spend approximately 60% of the time training on dry land and 40% in water.
The philosophy of the club is that dives are learned best out of water. Once a level of comfort is achieved, the diver takes the dive to the water. This is especially helpful when learning more difficult dives, or for perfecting dives already performed.
POOL PRACTICE: Springboard Diving
Held at the Folsom Aquatics Center, 1200 Riley Street, Folsom CA 95630. The pool has four diving boards; two 1 meter and two 3 meter. The pool depth is 14 feet.
There is covered seating for anyone who wishes to stay and observe practice. Practices change according to time of year. Off season, divers work on basic skills, conditioning, and learning new dives.
Competitive season practices focus more on perfecting the dive list, and preparing the diver to compete at top condition.
STANFORD: Platform Diving
Each month the divers travel to Stanford University in Palo Alto and engage in a 2 hour practice on the olympic standard Diving Platform. Divers are coached on 5 meter, 7.5 meter and 10 meter dives.
